Ambition

practice

At this moment in my life I hope to produce an open-ended and complex body of work that is vigorously pursued enough to grow coherent without resorting to narrow-minded marketing strategies that can produce a cheaply won cohesion at the cost of depth. My only motivating forces should be the whole-hearted and open-minded pursuit of all ideas and impulses that compel me, and serious reflection on the products of that pursuit. I don’t aspire to adhere to a “program” at the moment, or really ever, but to make as thorough an investigation into my own thoughts, feelings, and ideas as I’m able.
